This is a title of a book I am reading that was given to me by my brother on my birthday. This book is about breaking free from the lies that control us. It is a good book and gives us an insight into the things we long and live for. I have only just started reading it, and I find it is a good guide to our everyday life.
It is about recognizing and eliminating the lies that bind our hearts and make us believe we can and should be able to “do it all.” It is about replacing those lies with the liberating truth that God offers each one of us.
The cost of a thing is the amount of what I call life which is required to be exchanged for it, immediately or in the long run……. HENRY DAVD THOREAU
the encouragement to have it all and to have it all right now is every where. We are told that we are entitle to more, to bigger, to better. Good things come to those who wait. Patience is a virtue. Anything worth having is worth waiting for.. There is a cost to pay for living outside our means, as it allows greed and envy to rule our lives and coveting what isn’t ours.; the feeling of entitlement.
God wants us to be self controlled… it just means that we stop worrying about what the world wants us to have and focus instead on what God wants us to have. God is our supply. He longs for us to com to Him, trusting that He will meet our every need….. Psalm 37:4
God wants to prosper us… spiritually, physically, mentally or emotionally. God is able to give us in abundance whatever He chooses.
Seeking God first is the key. By seeking God first, our hearts will change, and it turn our desires will change.
We must acknowledge that we have a problem and turn to the Lord for help as He is the only one who can set us free.
I will continue on chapter 2 soon.
